Chris Garneau - US

Intimately brilliant, elegant and modest, with his pure and fragile voice, Chris Garneau is the other name of emotion.
Chris Garneau’s voice is delicate, modest and sensual, hinting as much at Jeff Buckley as Elliott Smith. His piano provides a soft layer, a reassuring setting for the deep intimacy he delivers. What a long way he has come since his first album, the beautiful Music for Tourists (2007)! The gentleman farmer sings the bleeding wounds of his childhood to ethereal and fragile music, exposing himself in a deliciously assertive way. Influenced by Rufus Wainwright, Garneau is a willow swinging in the wind, a ballerina of melody, the diagonal light in an Almodóvar film. All of his songs could give the impression of wanting to escape into the distance, but the maturity of the compositions gives them a sense of gravity that is so anchored in the present to finally be able to look the past fully in the face.
