Trained as a classical pianist, Polish artist Hania Rani draws on the organic approach of Nils Frahm or Ólafur Arnalds to create intimate and ethereal atmospheres. She explores each note, click or echo to extract repetitive and mesmerising music that she tinges with electronics and dreamy harmonies, reminiscent as much of Ludovico Einaudi as Max Richter. To her tapestries of decomposed keys, the virtuoso adds a delicate, airy voice, a double bass, strings or bewitching rhythms, and draws immense soundscapes, filled with breaths and silences, ecstasy and melancholy. With her enchanting fingers, she caresses and soothes our darkest torments.
