Invoking as much the California sun as her Armenian roots, Bedouine delivers her timeless wisdom in graceful, nostalgic and contemplative folk fables.

Bedouine, with her delicate and haunting folk reveries, is one of those secrets that you’d want to keep to yourself. Real name Azniv Korkejian, the singer-songwriter was born in Aleppo to Armenian parents, then lived in Saudi Arabia before moving to California. It’s perhaps in response to this nomadic childhood that her music has taken on such a quiet, lived-in character, even though it combines elements of Americana, country, cosmic folk and sun-filled soul. With haunting guitars and resolute, melancholy lyrics, Bedouine’s songs have a comforting, timeless quality, as if a lost radio station from the 1970s were suddenly crackling on the airwaves, nostalgic and innocent, with echoes of Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell or the more recent Alela Diane.
